What’s the Difference between Miley Cyrus and Beyoncé?
Ah, yet another Miley Cyrus article and I’m pretty sure you’re wondering whether I’m on team “Miley is a disgrace” or “Miley is revolutionary.” Well, I’m pretty pro-Miley. I mean, I totally don’t see the harm in her prancing around half-cloth and she doesn’t seem to be bothered by all the criticism she’s gotten lately, but for some reason hearing it seems to kind of peeve me.
I guess it’s because her sexually explicit behaviour is treated so unfairly in comparison to how the media treats someone like, I don’t know, Beyoncé for example? Now don’t get me wrong. I, like almost everybody else, am a head-over-heels-please-marry-me-and-have-my-children fan of Beyoncé. So I promise I’m not about to spew any Beyoncé hate, but I can’t help but resent the huge difference between how the media treats Beyoncé and Miley Cyrus.
Alright so, Beyoncé’s videos slightly “classier” and she has been in the business for a long time, but she’s still showing the same amount of skin as Miley. And yet everybody seems to be praising Beyoncé for her amazing body and courage in her videos. So why the double standard? Is the reason why we praise Beyoncé and shame Miley Cyrus because of their ages? Is it just because of Miley’s previous Hannah Montana role? Or is it because Beyoncé is a married woman who’s rumoured to only ever have been with Jay-Z and so she’s immune from being called a slut?
Would the media actually excuse Beyonce’s sexually explicit videos if she weren’t married? Well, what do you think?

Couldn’t agree more with any of this. The only ‘real’ difference between them is that Beyoncé makes better tunes (apart from those excruciating power ballads).
