It’s alternative fitness now.
I recently signed up for a pole dancing class after my friend begged and begged and begged me to buy the “Groupon” package with her. Of course, I’m not a conservative whatsoever, but I was still at first a little hesitant to partake in the activity because even if I’m all pro-sex, pro-nudity, etcetera, I’m not immune to being uncomfortable with my body like a good portion of women out there. (because of the whole photoshopped models on magazines thing we’re always talking about)
As it turns out from how many people were in my class and how many classes there are per week, pole dancing seems to be the new in thing for women… and some men. Two guys in my class signed up with their girlfriends and the third, to meet women and… surprisingly it worked for him. The classes were also extremely tasteful, which catered to a lot of people not used to being more outward with sexuality.
I don’t know how I will ever use this new skill I’m learning, but it doesn’t really matter because of the upside to the classes. Turns out it takes a hell of a lot of upper body strength and some leg strength to pole dance, which I’ve begun to gain and it’s also forced me to be a lot more comfortable with my body. I guess seeing people not care has really helped me not care either and I’m always in favour of expressing my dirty side more often.
In the same studio, women can take strip tease classes, which is totally a great idea of a thing to offer, because those can be so much fun to give and receive. The class has generated a lot of interest too cause so many women are interested but just too awkward to try.
Now to just find out how I can show my girlfriend my new skill. (without having to install a poll in my bedroom)
