I don’t watch that much porn.
I’ve dabbled. I watch it every once in awhile. It just never seems to really appeal to me – it’s so obvious that most if not all of mainstream hetero porn is targeted towards men/regular porn users: the lighting sucks, the men looks like hideous clubbers from downtown on a saturday night, and the sex looks extremely unappealing.
The problem is that I really WANT TO like porn, and to be able to find something that will actually get me off. I’m talking like a decently shot film, or at least a film shot with care, involving two actors who seem to kind of like each other and are actually marginally attractive and into having sex with each other. Is that too much to ask?
Enter “porna.” Porna is defined as pornography made by and for women. Most “porna” describes itself as being feminist, and basically ignoring and rallying against the sexist tropes that exist in most mainstream porn. The validity of this ‘feminist’ label has been brought into question, as some people still see it as a form of exploitation, but nonetheless, this is porno designed to appeal to the sensibilities of women.
Even better – “Dusk,” a full-fledged digital porna channel, is coming from the Netherlands over to North America. Dusk intends to provide accessible porna to the starving masses in North America who decry the over-abundance of money shots and painful looking anal penetration in their porns.

I for one am fairly excited for Dusk, and will at least give it a fair shake and try it out. As previously stated, I’d love to get my rocks off to some hot couple fucking, but regular porn just doesn’t do it for me.
What do you think, readers? Is it possible/possibly accurate for a porn to describe itself as ‘feminist?’ Would you pay money to watch these kinds of erotic films?

When I read the first paragraph, I thought, “Ohh…watch the stuff produced, directed and made my women.” I was pleased to see that the rest of the post stated EXACTLY that…LOL There are some American production companies owned and operated by women and they always come with a story..and they tend to be sensual, hot and they make sense…in other words, the sex displayed makes sense.
Yes but it’s important to remember that just because something is made by woman it doesn’t necessarily mean it won’t be exploitative and that it won’t represent sex in a misleading and inaccurate way!
We can only hope that the women involved in the production have their hearts in the right place.
