Recent studies conducted by two different research groups (one in Maryland, and one in South Korea) has determined that frequent sexual activity can help your brain produce new cells at a faster rate.
This is incredible news for obvious reasons. Unfortunately, I’m not sure if its even possible for me to get any smarter, but that’s besides the point (joking!) Fortunately, it doesn’t matter how much of a genius I am because I never seem to have any sex anyways (joking again! Well, joking less this time…)
I read through the news report about these scientific findings and was kind of underwhelmed: turns out these findings have been accumulated through allowing mice to and rats to have sex and then gauging their stress levels afterwards. Ho hum, who cares about mice?
If you need some real life test subjects holler at your girl – totally down – as long as you can get an attractive, hunky co-subject that is.
The point being this: we all know that sex has plenty of benefits. It’s a great work-out. It leaves you feeling awesome and can help with stress and unhappiness. It is an integral part to any relationship and can solidify the bond between two people.
I guess it’s just nice to hear that it might have a real, measurable impact on your intelligence. I don’t need a million extra reasons to convince myself that sex is totally great – I already know that it is, but, its always nice to read reports like this.
What do you think? What do you believe is the greatest benefit of an active sex life?
